| 1. The NORAD Fellowship Programme |
| NORAD sponsors a limited number of fellowships
to selected courses, mainly Master degree, pressented
in an Annual Programme. Most of the courses are
held in Norwegian Universities and are offered in
fields where Norwegain institutions hava an international
standing. The courses hold a high relevence to the
fellow's home occupations. the fellows may write
a thesis on a theme relevant to their home professions
and carry out reserch in their home country. The
Fellowship Programme targets personnel employed
or formally linked up to the public institution,
non governmental institution, private sectors enterprises,
universities and research who in the future will
benifit from further education in order to strengthen
the performance of their respective institutions.

| 2. The Quota Programme |
| The Norwegian quota Programme is a funding scheme
offerd by the Norweigian Government to student from
the Developing countries and Eastern-Europe for
studies at institution of higher education in Norway.
The scheme aims at offering especially designed
Masters Degree courses within a specific subject.
The Quota Programme also offers funding to doctorial
prof\gramme students. Application for admission
under the Quota Programme must fulfill certain criteria
in order to be considered for admission. Admission
is limited and therefore very competitive. |

| 3. International Summer School(ISS).
University of OSLO |
| The international Summer school is a centre for
learning in an international context with the aim
of promoting understanding and good will among people
around the world. Each year ISS brings together
over 500 students from 80-90 different countries
to live and study together at the University of
OSlo for about two months in an atmosphere of academic
achievement and international good will. The ISS
offers a limited number of NORDAC scholorships to
applicants from developing countries |

| 4. Folk High Schools In Norway |
| |
| A folk high school is a one year independent residential
school, primary for young adults, offering many
non-traditional subjects of study. Each school has
its own profile, but as a group, the Norwegias folk
high school teach classes covering almost all interest
areas, including history, arts, crafts, music, sports,
philosophy, theatre, photography etc..Here you live
on campus from late August to the middle of may,
sharing class time and leisure time with other students
and the school staff. |

| Expenses: |
| For the year 2001-2002, the minimum cost of a
folk high school is Norwegian Kroner 37000 for room
and board for 33 weaks. There are no tuition fees,
but some additional expenses for materials, books,
excursion and incidental irems will be incurred
and this purpose the amount is calculated to Norwegian
Kroner 11000. A limited numbe of scholorships are
available. |

| Admission: |
| The folk high schools start their admission in
early February and keep admitting students on a
continuous basis until the beginning the school
year. Each school has its own application form.
